Doggy Fashion Flash… Counting Down the Top 5 Fashion Trends For NYC Pet Fashion Week
Calling all fashionistas… doggy fashionistas that is…
Pet Fashion Week is upon us! This weekend in NYC, the Metropolitan Pavilion will be transformed into every fashionable dog’s dream: a display of the best of what the pet lifestyle industry has to offer. Some of our favorite designers, like Jess&Co Canine Couture and L’izzura, will be there along with some up-and-comers, like designers from FIT’s Pet Product Design and Marketing Department.
In honor of the upcoming event, I decided to scour my favorite pet designers’ collections and for the next 5 days I will count down my top 5 trends for dogs and their owners. Today’s trend is golden….

Eddie’s Pick of the Week: The Half King
I am told The Half King is a place where celebrity dogs hang out, but even though I didn’t see any, the service was great. The waitress was so nice. She hugged me. She brought me a huge official dog water bowl of water with ice- it was very hot out. They must have a lot of special dog bowls because the dog next to me had the same one. Read more…
Pamela Anderson Adopts Two “Oil Spill Dogs”
The recent BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico has affected everyone in the region- even dogs!
Sadly enough, families that have experienced a loss in income due to the spill cannot afford any extra expenses, and pets are often the first to go.
A few celebrities (like Pamela Anderson!) have stepped up to the job by helping relieve overcrowding in New Orleans area animal shelters. A long time supporter of animal rights, Anderson visited the Louisiana city earlier this week to help relocate 50 dogs to Virginia shelters. Once the dogs are in Virginia, PETA and SPCA will work together to find the animals permanent homes.
According to Mark Malkin with Entertainment Online, Pamela Anderson adopted two of the displaced dogs herself naming them after actresses Gina Lollobrigida and Brigitte Bardot.
